Prior to his appointment by the property, Ali was a key member of the Dream Doha pre-opening team as Director of Sales for Dream Hotel Group's flagship luxury hotel in Qatar. For the past ten years, he has assisted Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Doha with sales and marketing. Ali is a seasoned hotelier who worked his way up the ranks at Grand Hyatt Hotel & Villas, rising from Sales Manager to Assistant Director of Sales and eventually Acting Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Sales for the prestigious Park Hyatt Doha pre-opening. At the same time, he headed the sales and marketing team for the Hyatt Regency Kuwait and Hyatt Regency Oryx Qatar acquisitions.

"As GHM approaches its 30th anniversary in 2022, the much-anticipated debut of our new seaside landmark, The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort, will cement our incomparable history of customized hospitality in Qatar's capital." We believe that his expertise in commercial strategies and partner relationships, combined with his invaluable insights and relevant market experience, will position the hotel well in line with Qatar's rising prominence as one of the world's preferred travel destinations," said Clement Koh, GHM's Executive Vice President for Sales & Marketing.

Before joining Hyatt in Doha in 2011, Ali had sales and marketing experience in Lebanon, from greeting guests at Starwood's Le Meridien Commodore to advancing through the ranks of sales executive and manager at Coral Beach Hotel & Resort in Beirut. Ali began his work in 2006 after graduating from the Islamic University of Lebanon with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. He is a well-known representative of prominent hotels at both local and international exhibitions, roadshows, and events, and is fluent in both Arabic and English.

"We have faith in Ali's ability to develop a world-class team with people from many disciplines who share his motivating appetite for excellence," stated Morton Johnston, General Manager of The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort.

The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort in Doha, Qatar, decides to join GHM's widely praised portfolio of distinct luxury hotels, which includes The Chedi Muscat in Oman, The Chedi Al Bait in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, The Chedi Andermatt in Switzerland, and The Chedi Hotel and Residences Lutica Bay in Montenegro. The Chedi El Gouna on the Red Sea in Egypt, as well as other projects in the Asia Pacific, are in the works.

The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort in Doha, set to open in the second half of 2022, is one of GHM's most anticipated luxury resort projects to date, marking the brand's debut in Qatar. Theatres, concert halls, art galleries, mosques, restaurants, shops, a park, and an open amphitheatre are all conveniently accessible from this beachside location inside the famous 100-hectare (247-acre) Katara Cultural Village district.
