The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has appointed Hamed Ali Mohammed Al Kaabi as the new Director General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation.

The announcement was made on Sunday, June 7, through a federal decree issued by Sheikh Mohamed. This marks an important step in strengthening the country’s nuclear regulatory framework and ensuring the safe use of nuclear resources.

Before the appointment of Al Kaabi, the role of Director General was held by Christer Viktorsson, a seasoned nuclear physicist with extensive experience spanning more than 35 years in nuclear regulation and safety.
