All About Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships

Daniil Medvedev overcame Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday, March 4th, to win the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the UAE sporting calendar.

Medvedev showed a consistent performance throughout the 68-minute clash to extend his winning streak to 14 matches.

"It was very tactical [match]," Medvedev said. "I know Andrey can cause a lot of trouble to everyone on Tour. Every time we play he tries to make me suffer, I try to make him suffer. Today I managed to be on top, but the next match could be a different story."

The third seed, thus, completed an impressive hat-trick, picking up a third title after he lifted ATP trophies in Rotterdam and Doha in February.

"It is amazing because at the start of the year, it was not perfect. In tennis when you don't win matches you have doubts. Now it just feels better," Medvedev said. "I was really happy with these three weeks and I am looking forward to the next ones."

The Dubai Duty-free Tennis Championships is a prominent tennis tournament that includes two events, the WTA 500 women's tournament, and the ATP 500 men's tournament, and it has a massive global audience with coverage across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australasia, and the Americas.

The men's tournament kicked off on Monday, February 27th, and was held at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium, known as The Aviation Club Tennis Centre, Located in Garhoud.
