Good news for jet-setters—Dubai International Airport (DXB) is rolling out smart scanners that mean no more pulling laptops or water bottles out of your bag. The full rollout is expected by the end of 2026.
How the New Tech Works
The airport is testing high-resolution 3D scanners with AI support. These can scan laptops, liquids, and even big bottles of perfume without making you unpack. The tech will boost security while cutting queues.
Rollout Already Underway
The project kicked off in Terminal 3, home to Emirates flights. Around 140 old machines will be swapped out as part of the upgrade, though big infrastructure changes mean it’ll take a while before every terminal has it.
Why the Upgrade Matters
DXB handled a record 46 million travelers in the first half of 2025 alone. With numbers only going up, the new system is designed to speed things up and keep travel stress-free.
