Stuck in the UAE and need to catch a flight out? Here’s a solid workaround.

Direct bus transfers are now running from Sharjah to Muscat International Airport, giving eligible travellers a way to continue their journey. The service has been confirmed by SalamAir and Oman Air.

The buses connect Sharjah straight to Muscat airport — but there are a few rules.

Who’s Running It — And When?

The transfers are arranged by Oman Air and SalamAir, with buses operated by Muwasalat.

Departure point: Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah
Drop-off: Muscat International Airport

Service dates: March 3 to March 5
Operating hours:

  • 9am to 5pm

  • 8pm to 10:30pm

Passengers must arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.

Who Can Use It?

This isn’t open to everyone.

You must:

  • Be eligible for visa on arrival in Oman (around 100 nationalities qualify — check Oman’s official eVisa portal before booking)

  • Have a confirmed onward flight from Muscat with Oman Air or SalamAir

If you’re not visa-on-arrival eligible, you’ll need to apply in advance. Processing can take 24–48 hours.

Booking and Cost

No walk-ins allowed.

Tickets must be booked in advance through:

  • Airline channels

  • Authorised travel agencies including Musafir.com

  • Sharjah National Travel and Tourist Agency (SNTTA)

Current fare: 50 OMR
