Dubai Customs has thwarted the trafficking of 200,000 narcotics and pills valued at about AED 6.2 million through air cargo.

Dubai Customs Intelligence Department officials grew suspicious of two shipments arriving from an Asian country. 

Inspection revealed that the first shipment concealed narcotics and restricted pharmaceuticals weighing 460kg and valued at AED 1 million, while the second shipment contained 175,300 Tramadol tablets, weighing 520kg, worth AED 5.25 million.

legal procedures and protocols were taken against the accused, and they were handed over to the Dubai Police’s General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics.

Dubai Customs' mission is to enhance security measures and protect both society and economy, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said.
