Finding cash in a parking lot sounds like a plot twist — but this one had a feel-good ending.

Dubai Police have honoured a Jordanian resident after he returned Dh200,000 he found in a public parking area in Bur Dubai, choosing integrity over temptation.

Found Cash, Did the Right Thing

The money was discovered within the jurisdiction of Bur Dubai Police Station. Instead of walking away, Mohammad Suleiman Al Qaryouti handed the full amount to authorities.

That decision earned him official recognition from Dubai Police.

Honoured by Bur Dubai Police

The award was presented by Brigadier Khalifa Khalid Al Awadhi, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, in the presence of senior officers.

Al Awadhi praised Al Qaryouti’s actions, calling them a strong example of the values that society aims to uphold.

Why Dubai Police Highlight Stories Like This

Dubai Police said recognising honest actions helps encourage positive behaviour and strengthens trust between the public and law enforcement.

Officials also stressed that community cooperation plays a big role in keeping the city safe and protecting the UAE’s reputation.

“It Was Just the Right Thing to Do”

Al Qaryouti said returning the money was a moral responsibility, not something he did for praise. He also thanked Dubai Police for their continued efforts to promote honesty and community values.
