A Filipina traveler in Dubai got an unexpected dose of generosity when a Dubai Police officer handed her AED 100 so she could grab a meal while waiting at Dubai International Airport.

Charlene Andrade, an OFW, was stuck outside the departure area where restaurants and ATMs were located. With only vending machines around—and no cash in hand—she couldn’t buy anything to eat.

Officer Steps In

Looking for help, Andrade approached a police officer on duty to ask if she could access an ATM. Instead of just giving directions, the officer surprised her by pulling out AED 100 and telling her to use it for food.

At first, she hesitated to accept, but the officer insisted.

A Meal Shared

Though the vending machine didn’t accept the large bill, airport staff helped her order food. Andrade ended up sharing the meal with her companions at the terminal.

She said the gesture showed the compassion of Dubai Police and expressed her gratitude for the officer’s kindness.
