Israel Says Iran Violates Truce, Orders Strikes on Tehran

Israel said it carried out “simultaneous strikes in Tehran and Beirut,” targeting Iranian military infrastructure and positions linked to the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, as fighting intensifies across the Middle East.

The Israeli Air Force confirmed the operations were aimed at “military objectives” of the Iranian regime and Iran-backed Hezbollah, underscoring a widening regional confrontation that now spans multiple fronts.

Israeli strikes in Tehran and Beirut

According to Israeli officials, the strikes in Tehran focused on military installations tied to Iran’s missile and naval capabilities, while operations in Beirut targeted infrastructure linked to Hezbollah as Israeli ground forces push deeper into Lebanon.

The escalation comes amid sustained exchanges between Israel and Iran-aligned groups across the region, raising fears of a broader regional war.

Iran, for its part, has continued attacks against US allies in the Middle East, expanding the scope of the conflict beyond Israel’s borders.

US orders departure of non-emergency personnel

In response to the deteriorating security situation, the US State Department ordered the mandatory departure of non-emergency personnel from six Middle Eastern countries and urged American citizens to leave the region immediately.

Speaking to CNN, President Donald Trump described “the biggest surprise” of the war as Iran’s attacks against Arab countries in the region, signaling concern over Tehran’s widening target list.

Trump warns of ‘big wave’ of US attack

Trump also told CNN that the “big wave” of the US attack on Iran is yet to come, suggesting further escalation remains possible.

He outlined key US war objectives, stating that Washington aims to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities, annihilate its navy, end its nuclear ambitions and stop it arming militant groups across the region.

However, the administration’s messaging has drawn scrutiny, with critics noting shifts in stated goals and contradictions since the start of the operation.

Rising regional tensions

Images emerging from the ground in Tehran and Beirut show the aftermath of airstrikes as emergency crews respond to damaged sites. The developments mark one of the most direct and simultaneous confrontations between Israel and Iranian-linked forces in recent years.

With Israel intensifying strikes, Iran continuing regional attacks, and the United States signaling the possibility of a larger offensive, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are entering a volatile new phase.
