Kuwaiti and UAE security forces just stopped a major drug smuggling attempt that looked straight out of a crime movie. After a tip-off from their UAE partners, Kuwait tracked down a sea container packed with around 100kg of meth and 10kg of heroin.
The catch? The drugs were stashed in the most unexpected places—the container’s door and roof panels. Smooth move by the smugglers, but not smooth enough.
Tracked from the Port to the Streets
The operation didn’t stop at the port. Authorities let the shipment leave Shuwaikh Port so they could follow it to the next stage. They tracked it all the way to Umm Ghara, where they caught the guy who was about to collect it red-handed.
Turns out, the suspect is an Afghan national. Now in custody, facing some serious charges.
UAE and Kuwait Tag-Team for Security
Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah praised the UAE’s Ministry of Interior, especially Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their sharp intel and teamwork. He also highlighted how important it is for both countries to keep working together to fight organized crime.
