Dubai is about to feel a whole lot smaller. Emirates says more than 2.3 million people will be flying out of DXB this December, with another 2.5 million landing in the city. That’s almost five million travellers in just one month — and most of them are expected over the coming weekends.

The airline is urging passengers to plan ahead, especially with heavier road traffic and crowded airport halls expected throughout the month.

How to Avoid Last-Minute Stress

Emirates laid out a few reminders for anyone flying soon, all aimed at helping you get through the airport without drama.

  • Arrive at least three hours before your flight. Metro is an option, but expect big crowds during peak hours.

  • Clear immigration at least 90 minutes before departure.

  • Check your boarding gate an hour before your flight.

  • Use the Emirates App for online check-in, and consider registering for biometrics to skip longer queues.

  • Review luggage rules to avoid delays at the counters.

  • Drop your bags early at the airport, or use the City Check-In at DIFC. Home check-in is available too if you want a fully stress-free start.
