The UAE Digital Government has clarified the details regarding the student visa and stated that it is issued to international students coming from abroad to enroll in universities, colleges, and higher education institutions in the UAE, or students residing in the country and wishing to continue their studies, and it is issued for one year only, renewable for a similar period, provided that an official proof of continuity of study is presented, while outstanding students are granted a five-year visa, as well as their families.
The eligibility requirements for obtaining this visa, include that the student obtains a high school average of at least 95% and that university students obtain a GPA of at least 3.75.

It is worth noting that admission to a university in the UAE does not guarantee the issuance of a visa, as the issuance of an entry permit and/or a student visa is subject to certain requirements, including passing a medical fitness test, and approval of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, including a security check.
