The UAE is mourning the loss of Hussain Abdulrahman Khansaheb, one of the country’s earliest and most influential entrepreneurs. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum led the tributes, highlighting his lasting impact on the nation.
The Legacy He Built
Back in 1935, the Khansaheb Group started its journey, and under Hussain’s leadership from 1954 to 2016, the company went on to help construct some of the UAE’s most iconic landmarks. Beyond just buildings, his vision laid down the foundations of the country’s infrastructure during its early days.
Heart for the Community
Khansaheb wasn’t only about business — he was also deeply committed to humanitarian work. From homes for orphans to health centres for the underprivileged, his efforts stretched far beyond boardrooms and construction sites. He was even honoured in 2021 by Sheikh Mohamed for his charitable contributions both in the UAE and abroad.
Words of Farewell
In heartfelt messages, the nation’s leaders remembered him as a man of generosity and wisdom. Sheikh Mohamed praised his “dedicated service to the UAE,” while Sheikh Mohammed noted that his true legacy lies in his community and humanitarian work. Ajman Ruler Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi also described him as “a brother and a friend,” recalling a six-decade-long bond built on sincerity and integrity.
