Parents and guardians who leave their children in locked vehicles will face up to AED 5,000 in fines and/or imprisonment, the Dubai police said.
The Abu Dhabi Police issued a warning that leaving kids in cars alone and unsupervised while parents or guardians go shopping or for any other reason is a crime that is subject to legal penalties.
“Leaving children alone in the car exposes them to an inevitable and potentially-life threatening risk. This is due to the soaring temperatures inside the vehicle that may lead to suffocation,” Dubai Police stated.
