CAROLINA HERRERA RELEASES NEW STALLION LEATHER SIROCCO : A Limited Edition tribute to untamed freedom

Carolina Herrera introduces a bold new chapter in the world of Stallion Leather, the emblematic leather fragrance inspired by Mrs. Herrera’s enduring passion for equestrianism and her cherished horse, Balaclava. Stallion Leather Sirocco, the latest limited-edition eau de parfum within the Confidential Collection, captures the raw essence of nature through striking mineral notes and a distinguished collaboration with textile artist Sibylle de Tavernost.

The call of the wild

At the heart of Stallion Leather Sirocco is Balaclava, the magnificent horse Carolina Herrera rode during her youth. Their bond was profound, and their most treasured moments took place in the Médanos de Coro, a dramatic natural landscape in northwest Venezuela shaped by the trade winds into vast dunes. There, alone with her horse, the young Herrera would gallop across the terrain, fearless and in perfect harmony with the untamed beauty surrounding her. The sirocco wind is a force of nature that defies control. With no rules, no destination, and no sense of time, it moves freely, guided only by instinct and rhythm.

An artistic dialogue

For the first time in the history of the Confidential Collection, the fragrance is launched alongside a creative collaboration. Textile artist Sibylle de Tavernost, renowned for her evocative handwoven tapestries using natural fibers, has imagined a stylized landscape that celebrates her shared passion with Mrs. Herrera: equestrian elegance and the unbridled beauty of horses. “When designing Stallion Leather Sirocco, I wanted to capture the freedom of a horse in full gallop in the warmth of the desert”, she says. “The earth tones of Africa, the sculpted dunes, the play of light and shadow were all drawn from my travels, and my work as a rug designer. Stallion Leather is a tribute to instinct, to freedom, and to the beauty of the wild.” Sibylle de Tavernost’s artwork has been reinterpreted on the cap of the bottle, transforming it into a miniature sculptural object featuring golden dunes and abstract silhouettes. The motif is echoed across the outer box and packaging of Stallion Leather Sirocco.

Mineral passion

The signature leather accord that defines Stallion Leather returns in this limited edition, infused with a breath of unrestrained freedom. Perfumer Jordi Fernández brings the fragrance to life with a bold new interpretation. “Just like galloping across sunlit sands, strength, sensuality, and refinement come together to explore the nuances of a salty leather, elevated by floral accents,” he explains. This salty leather note enhances the mineral facets of the fragrance and brings a sun-warmed richness reminiscent of leather tack beneath desert skies. A date liqueur accord adds luscious sweetness, while Akigalawood, a refined molecule combining woody, floral, and spicy tones, ensures an unforgettable trail.

A collector’s bottle

The faceted bottle, with its iconic silhouette, is lacquered in a sunlit golden tone that evokes the radiance of fine leather. The special edition cap, designed by Sibylle de Tavernost, turns the bottle into a collector’s item, offering a tactile miniature of her desert-inspired artwork. This design extends across the box and outer wrapping, inviting wearers on an exclusive olfactory journey into the wild.
