Dubai’s road toll operator Salik has announced a temporary reduction in toll charges during the holy month of Ramadan 2026, offering motorists lower fees when travelling to break their fast in the evenings.
Under the revised toll schedule, low-peak Salik charges of AED 4 will apply from 5 pm until 2 am, Monday to Saturday, throughout Ramadan. This is part of a variable pricing strategy designed to accommodate changes in travel patterns during the holy month and to make it more affordable for residents and visitors to drive to iftar gatherings and evening activities across the emirate.
For context, standard Salik toll fees in Dubai are typically AED 6 per crossing during weekdays’ peak travel times, which run in normal months from early morning until evening. The reduced fee during Ramadan evenings represents an AED 2 saving per toll for drivers passing through Salik gates during the designated low-peak hours.
The move comes as part of broader adjustments across the city to support daily life during Ramadan, when fasting hours affect commuting routines and traffic flow in the UAE’s largest city. Residents are anticipating additional changes to work, school and transport schedules designed to ease the observance of the holy month, which is expected to begin later this week.
With the reduction in Salik charges, Dubai authorities aim to ease congestion and provide financial relief for motorists attending iftar events, family gatherings and community activities throughout Ramadan, one of the most significant periods in the Islamic calendar for residents and visitors alike.
Commuters planning to use Salik-toll roads during the holy month are advised to check the revised fee timings as part of their travel planning, with the reduced charge available during evening hours each day of the week.
