UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, have marked Union Pledge Day by reaffirming their commitment to the nation's unity and progress.

Taking to social media platform X, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed highlighted that Union Pledge Day is a proud occasion to remember the values of unity set by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the other Founding Rulers.

He shared that the signing of the Declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution on July 18, 1971, was a historic turning point. Today, the UAE continues to grow while staying true to the core values that inspire future generations.

Similarly, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum spoke about the importance of this day in bringing the country together and building a bright future.

In his inspiring post on X, he wrote: "Union Pledge... the day the Founding Fathers agreed on the idea of the Union and the Constitution of the Union... the day we renew our pledge to preserve this Union... renew our determination to strengthen this foundation... and renew our solidarity to safeguard our achievements and build the future of the Union's generations."

Union Pledge Day honors July 18, 1971, when the UAE's Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of the Union and approved the UAE Constitution. This historic event paved the way for the official establishment of the United Arab Emirates later that year.
