Fujairah has secured a place in the global record books after its "Musical Street" project was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's longest musical street. The announcement marks a significant cultural milestone for the emirate, cementing its reputation as a pioneer in innovative public art and community-focused creative initiatives.
The record-breaking project stretches over 750 meters along Sheikh Khalifa Street, situated at the entrance to Fujairah city before the Fujairah Court. Launched by the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, the initiative was designed to transform ordinary urban environments into interactive cultural experiences, seamlessly integrating music into the everyday lives of residents and visitors.
The official recognition was celebrated during a formal ceremony at the Emiri Court. There, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, received the prestigious Guinness World Records certificate from Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director-General of the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy. The event was attended by members of the academy team and Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince.
During the meeting, Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the transformative power of arts and music in enhancing community well-being and quality of life. He highlighted the success of integrating artistic expression into daily routines, turning public spaces into vibrant hubs of culture. His remarks underscored the Fujairah Government's unwavering commitment to supporting creative projects that align with the vision of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, to enrich the emirate's cultural and artistic landscape.
"The project reflects the academy's vision of embedding creativity within the fabric of daily living," officials stated following the ceremony. The achievement not only validates the efforts of the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy but also strengthens Fujairah's position as a leading hub for cultural innovation in the region.
In accepting the award, the Crown Prince commended the academy team for their dedication to advancing the emirate's cultural development. The team, in turn, expressed deep gratitude for the Crown Prince's continued support and close oversight of their initiatives, which have been instrumental in creating inspiring artistic experiences for the entire community.
