H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Congratulates New Pope

UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, congratulated Pope Robert Prevost for being elected as the Head of the Catholic Church.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed wrote on X, "I extend my sincere best wishes to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on his appointment as head of the Catholic Church and wish him success in continuing to promote mutual understanding, peace, and harmony throughout the world."
Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected as the Pope on Thursday, May 8th, becoming the first American pontiff in history.
He will now be known as Pope Leo XIV and is the 267th leader of the Catholic Church.
His election came after four rounds of voting and was indicated by white smoke rising from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel over St Peter's Square, where more than 40,000 people gathered to celebrate the election and to catch a glimpse of the new Pope.
