Diwali Recipes: Mirchi Pakore

South India, particularly Hyderabad, has this very special snack that is usually made for festivals like Diwali. 

  • Ingredients

    • 10 Minutes
    • 5 Serving
    • 80 Calories
Gram Flour (Besan) Paste
1/2 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
3/4 tsp Salt
3/4 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/4 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves
Mirchi Paste
1/4 cup Tamarind Soaked in water.
1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp salt
4-5 Green Chilli Pepper
  • Method & Directions

    • 10 Minutes
  1. Gram Flour Paste

    Mix all the ingredients together and add some water to have the paste in the right consistency.
  2. Tamarind Paste

    Mix all the ingredients mentioned above and grind to make a tamarind paste.
  3. Mirchi Pakore Fry

    Cut the Green Chilli Pepper (Mirchi) in between and put some tamarind paste. Dip the green chili pepper in Gram Flour (Besan) and deep fry in oil. Your Mirchi Pakore are ready to be served for Iftar!
