Sharjah Museums to Host a Happy Holiday Camp This Month

Sharjah Museums are set to welcome children this December with the return of their “Happy Holiday Camp,” a multi-museum winter program offering cultural, artistic, and scientific experiences across the emirate.

Running from 15–25 December 2025, the camp invites children between 7 and 12 years old to explore heritage, creativity, and learning through a variety of themed workshops tailored to different age groups.

A Multi-Museum Experience Across Sharjah

The Happy Holiday Camp features a diverse lineup of educational programmes held at several Sharjah Museums, each offering a unique journey into history, science, art, or Emirati culture.

From 15 to 18 December, children can join camps such as:

  • Stories and Timeless Treasures at Khorfakkan Fort for ages 7–12, where participants embark on an exciting archaeological adventure through ancient civilizations.

  • Al Hisn Tales at Sharjah Fort for ages 10–12, blending history with fun through immersive storytelling.

  • Reviving Heritage Together at Bait Al Naboodah for ages 10–12, featuring innovative heritage-inspired art workshops.

  • Discover Maritime Heritage at the Sharjah Maritime Museum for ages 7–9, exploring traditional navigation, crafts, and sea culture.

  • Heritage Treasures at Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi for ages 7–12, an evening camp highlighting Emirati architecture, bravery tales, and etiquette.

  • Science Adventures at the Sharjah Science Museum for ages 10–12, where students experiment in chemistry labs, simulate Mars exploration, cook in the “Little Chef” workshop, and create perfumes.

Heritage, Art, and Calligraphy Programs Continue from 22 to 25 December

The second week of the camp, from 22–25 December, offers more specialized programmes, including:

  • Emirati Customs and Traditions at Sharjah Heritage Museum for ages 7–9, introducing young learners to manners, hospitality, and traditional Emirati gatherings.

  • Journey into Calligraphy at Sharjah Calligraphy Museum for ages 10–12, where participants explore the beauty and structure of Thuluth and other classic scripts.

  • Discover the World of Texture in Art at the Sharjah Art Museum for ages 10–12, teaching children how surfaces and textures tell stories through visual art.

  • Scout Life Adventure at Al Qasimia School – Museum of Education in Sharjah, combining outdoor skills such as knot-tying, camping, and first aid with fun team challenges.

Camp Timings, Fees, and Registration

All programs run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, except the evening heritage camp at Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi, which takes place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Weekly fees are AED 150 for most museums and AED 300 for the Sharjah Science Museum, excluding 5% VAT. Registration is in person only at the respective museum.

Parents must adhere to drop-off and pick-up times, and children who miss more than one day without a valid reason will not receive a certificate of participation. Photos and videos may be taken for archiving and promotional use unless parents opt out.

A Holiday Season Filled With Discovery

With its rich mix of science, arts, heritage, and hands-on activities, the 2025 Happy Holiday Camp offers a meaningful way for children to learn, play, and connect with the UAE’s culture. Each museum brings its identity to life through immersive workshops designed to spark curiosity and creativity, making this camp one of Sharjah’s most engaging winter experiences for young learners.
