UAE Announces Petrol and Diesel Prices for May 2026

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has officially announced the revised retail prices for petrol and diesel for the month of May 2026, effective from May 1. The latest adjustment reflects the committee's monthly review process, which aligns local fuel costs with fluctuations in the global energy market.

Under the new tariff structure, all grades of petrol have seen a price increase compared to April rates. Super 98, the premium fuel grade, will now cost Dh3.66 per litre, marking a rise from Dh3.39 in the previous month. Similarly, Special 95, the most commonly used fuel for passenger vehicles, has been adjusted upward to Dh3.55 per litre from Dh3.28. E-Plus petrol will also see an increase, moving from Dh3.20 to Dh3.48 per litre.

In contrast to the petrol adjustments, diesel prices have remained unchanged for the second consecutive month. The committee cited stable global diesel market conditions as the reason for maintaining the current rate, providing some relief to commercial transport operators and logistics companies operating within the Emirates.

The Fuel Price Committee conducts these reviews at the end of every month to ensure that domestic fuel prices accurately mirror international trends. This mechanism allows the UAE to pass on global market benefits to consumers when prices drop while adjusting for increases when global demand or supply constraints drive costs higher. Motorists are advised that the new rates will automatically apply at all fuel stations across the country starting May 1, 2026.
