UAE Ranks 7th Best Location to Live and Work in for Expats in 2025

The United Arab Emirates has achieved a notable milestone in 2025, securing 7th place globally as one of the best locations for expatriates to live and work, according to a recent global network InterNations.

This ranking reflects a consistent upward trend for the UAE, which was previously placed 10th in 2024. The shift underscores the nation's growing appeal as a top destination for international professionals and families.

Key contributors to the UAE's rise include its comprehensive visa reforms, particularly the much-lauded Golden Visa, Green Visa, and Digital Nomad Visa programs. These initiatives offer long-term residency and flexibility, significantly enhancing its attractiveness to global talent.

Moreover, the UAE continues to lead globally in the Expat Essentials category, ranking first for its ease of administrative procedures, digital government services, and linguistic accessibility, especially for non-Arabic speakers.

In the Quality of Life category, the UAE maintains a top-tier position, ranked second worldwide. Expats cite the country's political stability, robust environmental policies, and world-class infrastructure, particularly road networks and public amenities, as key factors.

On the employment front, the Working Abroad index places the UAE among the top destinations at fifth. About 76% of expats reported that relocating to the UAE improved their career prospects, highlighting the strength of the economy and professional opportunities available.
