Apple Launches iPhone Pocket, Allowing Users to Carry Their Phones Hands-Free
Apple teams up with Issey Miyake for a limited-edition iPhone accessory launching November 14.
Apple is adding a fresh accessory to its lineup this November 14 — and it’s not a gadget, but a fashion moment. Meet the iPhone Pocket, a 3D-knitted pouch made in collaboration with Japanese fashion house Issey Miyake. Think of it as a mini phone bag with Apple-level design thinking and Miyake-level craftsmanship.
What Exactly Is the iPhone Pocket?
The iPhone Pocket is basically a stretchy, ribbed phone pouch that fully covers your device but expands to carry extra essentials. The fabric reveals the contents when stretched, so you can quickly check what’s inside (yes, including your screen).
It’s designed to be worn however you want — hand-carry, strapped to a bag, or worn crossbody. The short strap comes in eight colors, while the long strap comes in three.
It’s crafted in Japan and inspired by Issey Miyake’s iconic pleated clothing and the idea of “a single piece of cloth.”
Price and Colors
The accessory comes in two styles:
-
Short strap: Lemon, Mandarin, Purple, Pink, Peacock, Sapphire, Cinnamon, Black — $149.95
-
Long strap: Sapphire, Cinnamon, Black — $229.95
It’s a limited-edition release, so it won’t stay on shelves for long.
Will It Be Sold in the GCC?
Short answer: No.
An Apple customer executive confirmed it won’t be available in the GCC Apple Stores. But if you’re traveling or know someone abroad, you can still order it online and pick it up from a country where it’s officially sold.
Where You Can Buy It
Starting November 14, the iPhone Pocket will be available in select Apple Stores and online in:
France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
Apple listed key stores like Ginza (Tokyo), Orchard Road (Singapore), Regent Street (London), and SoHo (NYC) as launch locations.
The Apple × Issey Miyake Collaboration
This isn’t a random team-up — Issey Miyake is the same fashion house behind Steve Jobs’ iconic turtlenecks.
According to Miyake Design Studio, the iPhone Pocket was made to explore “the joy of wearing your iPhone,” focusing on simplicity and personal interpretation.
Apple’s design team says the colors were crafted to complement all iPhone models — basically, your phone and your pouch are now a matched set.
