Dubai GDRFA Surpasses Five Million Entry Permit Transactions
Digital services and Zero Bureaucracy drive faster, more efficient government transactions.
Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) handled more than 5 million entry permit transactions in the first half of 2026. During the same period, it issued over 1.051 million new residency permits, completed more than 910,000 residency renewals, and granted around 66,000 Golden Visas.
These numbers show Dubai’s strong growth and the ability of government services to meet rising demand. The progress also reflects the use of advanced digital platforms and smooth procedures that help speed up service delivery.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the results show the strength of Dubai’s government service model. He said the directorate is focused on delivering fast, proactive services that meet customer needs in an efficient way.
The Zero Bureaucracy initiative has been active in the directorate for more than a year and remains one of its key priorities. It supports Dubai’s wider digital transformation plans and aims to make services simpler and easier for everyone.
Al Marri said work is continuing to improve services and procedures so customers can enjoy a more flexible and smooth experience, with less time and effort needed to complete transactions.
The initiative supports the leadership’s vision of providing proactive, people-focused government services. It also helps strengthen Dubai’s position as a top destination for living, working, investing, and tourism.
Al Marri added that the next phase will include more smart services and wider use of artificial intelligence. These steps are expected to improve speed, efficiency, and service quality.
He said these efforts will help improve the customer experience, support innovation, and make government services across Dubai more effective and flexible.
