A Filipino domestic worker has been arrested in Medina after allegedly stabbing a child to death inside a private residence, Saudi authorities confirmed on Friday.
Immediate arrest
The Public Security Directorate said in a statement on X that the suspect was apprehended immediately following the incident and taken into custody.
Officials added that the worker allegedly used a knife to fatally attack the child, though details about the circumstances or the victim’s age were not disclosed.
Legal proceedings underway
Authorities confirmed that the suspect has been detained and that legal procedures have been initiated. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigation in line with Saudi law.
Officials stressed that the investigation will follow standard judicial processes to determine accountability.
