That loud emergency alert on your phone? Don’t panic—just know what to do next.

The Dubai Media Office, together with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Dubai Resilience Centre, has released a safety guide to help residents and visitors respond properly when they receive an official MOI alert.

First Rule: Stay Calm

The message is simple and clear—stay calm. There’s no need to panic when an alert comes in. Instead, focus on following instructions and getting to a safe place.

If You’re Indoors

If you’re at home or in the office, stay inside and move away from anything exposed.

  • Step away from windows, balconies, and glass areas

  • Head to an interior space

  • Follow building announcements or security instructions

  • Avoid using elevators unless told otherwise

  • Stay put until you receive the official “all clear” notification

Only resume normal activities once it’s confirmed safe.

If You’re Outdoors

Outside when the alert hits? Act fast.

  • Enter the nearest building immediately

  • If you’re driving, park safely and take cover indoors

  • Stay away from open areas, external walls, and glass surfaces

The goal is simple: get inside and stay protected.

Stick to Official Updates Only

Authorities are reminding everyone to rely only on verified information.

That means:

  • Don’t share unconfirmed videos, voice notes, or messages

  • Follow official government channels for updates

The safety guide is available in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Mandarin, Russian, Hindi, Tagalog, and Urdu, making it accessible to a wide audience.

Dubai Police: Don’t Touch Debris

Dubai Police also issued a strong reminder: if you see any fallen objects or debris, do not approach, touch, or take photos of them.

Even if something looks harmless, it could pose serious risks. Authorities say to leave it to professionals and keep your distance.

Stay Alert, Stay Safe

At the end of the day, it’s all about staying informed and acting smart.

When an alert comes in, don’t freeze or panic—just follow the steps, trust official updates, and give authorities the space to do their job.
