The UAE has introduced a new set of consular services for Golden Visa holders, ensuring assistance and protection during emergency situations abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced on Tuesday, October 14.
As part of the initiative, MoFA has established a dedicated 24/7 hotline (+97124931133) to support Golden Visa holders during crises, natural disasters, or other exceptional circumstances. The move aims to include these expats in emergency and evacuation plans, providing them with care and coordination through relevant authorities.
The new services also extend to repatriation and burial arrangements for Golden Visa holders who pass away overseas, helping their families complete all necessary procedures swiftly and smoothly.
In cases where Golden Visa holders lose or damage their passports abroad, MoFA will now facilitate their return to the UAE by issuing an electronic Return Document, available via the ministry’s website.
Introduced in 2019, the UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residency program allowing individuals to live, work, and study in the country without a sponsor. Eligible categories include investors, entrepreneurs, real estate owners, exceptional students, frontline heroes, and specialists in science and engineering.
In recent years, the program has expanded to include influencers, gamers, superyacht owners, and outstanding teachers, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to attracting global talent and innovators.
Golden Visa applications can be submitted through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) or the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, either online or at designated service centers.
With this latest announcement, the UAE continues to strengthen its global support network for expats, ensuring that Golden Visa holders receive comprehensive assistance—wherever they are in the world.
