The United States will suspend consular appointments in the United Arab Emirates for three days, starting Monday, as military tensions in the Gulf region continue to rise.
The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai said all consular appointments scheduled from July 13 to 15 have been cancelled.
The embassy said: “The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and US Consulate General in Dubai have cancelled consular appointments from July 13 to 15 due to the regional security situation. If you have an appointment on those dates, do not come to the embassy or consulate. We will contact you to reschedule.”
The embassy also said it remains on ordered-departure status, with non-emergency US government staff moved outside the UAE. This means only limited consular services are available for US citizens at the moment.
Americans who need passport services or other consular help have been advised to contact the US Citizen Services Navigator at https://ae.usembassy.gov/services/ and choose their preferred location. Consular staff will reply by email with next steps.
At the same time, all routine US visa services in the UAE are still suspended.
