Motorists in the UAE will have four black points removed from their licenses if they avoid traffic violations and accidents on the first day of the new school year Aug. 28.

The Federal Traffic Council announced on their Twitter account.

The authority shared that if a person signs an online pledge and does not violate any traffic laws, then he or she will have four black points removed from his or her license.

The initiative is part of the nationwide Accident-Free Day campaign and motorists can register for the pledge on the Ministry of Interior's website.

Since Aug. 28 is the start of the new academic year and school buses will return to the roads, the traffic council has advised to follow traffic rules diligently so that the roads can be accident-free and hazard-free.
