The viral model and greeter Eugenio Casnighi from last year's Met Gala got fired from his job ahead of the Met Gala 2024.

The model shared a video on TikTok explaining how he was fired because he went viral last year.

Casnighi said, “I’ve been working for the Met Gala as a model and greeter — 2022 and 2023 — and I was supposed to do it this year.”

He added, "It’s Friday and the Met Gala is on Monday, and they let me know today that they cut me off; they fired me because I went viral last year.”

The model did not mention the name of the company that hired him to work at the Met Gala, it was neither the Met nor Vogue.

At the 2023 Met Gala, Casnighi was hired to attend to American businesswoman Kylie Jenner. Although the model was in the background, he drew too much attention and became viral.

Casinghi shared another video on TikTok and shared that he was not the only model released from his duties this year, however, he did not elaborate on this point.

The model shared emails and messages sharing how he was confirmed to be a greet at the Met Gala 2024 and he even had to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). However, he was eventually told he was let go from the job.

Casinghi shared that he was disappointed, but in a twist of fate, the model got to attend the Met Gala After Party at The Mark, which he shared a video about on TikTok.

The Met Gala 2024 had its moments with its stunning celebrity appearances and hilarious memes, but this story takes the cake!
