WhatsApp is turning on a feature that will allow users to share higher-quality "HD" photos via the messaging app.

“Sharing photos on WhatsApp just got an upgrade,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced via his Meta broadcast channel on Instagram. “Now you can send in HD.”
According to Meta, support for HD videos is coming soon after.
When posting a picture to a discussion thread, users will eventually notice the "HD" gear symbol that was first visible in beta versions and screenshots.
