Dubai ranked first among the most popular tourist destinations in the world, after videos in which the name of the emirate was mentioned on the TikTok platform gained 81.8 billion views, surpassing New York, London, and Istanbul, where New York ranked second with 59.5 billion views. London came in third place with 38.6 billion views, followed by Istanbul with 34 billion views.

In this context, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed the latest statistics on the performance of the tourism sector and the number of international visitors for the first half of this year, which showed Dubai's success in attracting 7.12 million international visitors between January and June 2022, compared to the 2.52 million international visitors received by the city in the same period last year, an increase of more than 183%.
