Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) has significantly expanded its transportation capacity by acquiring 600 new license taxi plates through a recent auction organized by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This strategic acquisition marks a major milestone for the emirate's largest taxi operator and reinforces its commitment to meeting Dubai's growing mobility demands.
Following this expansion, DTC's total fleet will increase from 6,217 to 6,817 vehicles, solidifying its position as the dominant player in Dubai's taxi market with a 47 percent market share. The company plans to introduce the new vehicles in phases beginning July 2026, a structured rollout designed to maintain operational efficiency while ensuring consistent service quality across the network.
The expansion reflects broader strategic goals aligned with the Government of Dubai's vision for advancing a smart and integrated mobility ecosystem. By enhancing customer experience and improving transport service efficiency, the initiative supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to reinforce Dubai's global leadership in urban services.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, emphasized that the acquisition demonstrates confidence in Dubai's continued mobility sector growth. The company remains focused on scaling operations to address rising transport demand driven by the emirate's ongoing urban development.
The phased introduction strategy is designed to optimize asset utilization and enhance financial performance while elevating service standards. This approach ensures the company can effectively meet increasing passenger demand while delivering long-term value to shareholders and contributing to Dubai's ambition of building a world-class mobility ecosystem.
