Indian Comedian Vir Das Wins an International Emmy Award!

Indian comedian Vir Das has won an International Emmy Award for his Netflix special 'Vir Das: Landing'.

Das shared the comedy award with the popular British sitcom 'Derry Girls-Season 3'.

'Best Comedy' Nominations

Das' show was nominated alongside 'Derry Girls', 'Le Flambeau' from France, and 'El Encargado' from Argentina.

Before the ceremony, Vir Das took his Instagram and wrote, "The day he was called a terrorist, he was nominated for the Emmys" under a video in his story. 

This isn't Das' first nomination, Das' standup special 'Vir Das: For India' was nominated for 'Best Comedy' at the International Emmy Awards 2021.

International Emmy Awards 2023

The comedian wore a black bandhgala set (a type of Indian suit) for the International Emmy Awards 2023 ceremony.

The ceremony was held in New York City and the 2023 nominations featured 56 candidates from 20 countries across 14 categories.
