Abu Dhabi Hikes Private School Tuition Fees for Next Academic Year

Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) announced the results of the Educational Cost Index (ECI) and greenlit the structure for optional increase of schools tuition fees for the upcoming academic year 2023/2024.
The announcement comes after a three-year hiatus in tuition fees to back parents amid the negative repercussions of the pandemic.
Tuition fees’ hike is calculated based on the emirate’s Educational Cost Index (ECI) in collaboration with the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) and individual schools’ Irtiqaa inspection scores.
Schools with an “outstanding” rank in their Irtiqaa inspections for the academic year 2021/22 will be eligible to raise their tuition fees with a maximum cap of 3.94 percent for the next academic year, while schools rated “very good” are allowed to raise tuition fees by a 3.38 percent.
Schools ranked ‘good’ are allowed to impose 2.81 percent increase, while schools with ‘acceptable’, ‘weak’, and ‘very weak’ ranks can raise their tuition fees by 2.25 percent.
The school must have completed three years since the beginning of its operations, and must stik to the approved fees structure.
11 schools were rated "outstanding", 37 schools were rated "very good", 85 schools were rated "good", 63 schools were rated "fair" and one school was rated "poor", according to the latest Irtiqaa inspection results.
