  • Boeing Business Jets Demonstrator is a “penthouse in the sky” for private business jet customers
  • State-of-the-art interior and blazing fast connectivity provide ultimate comfort for passengers to work, dine, relax and sleep

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Nov. 15, 2021 –Boeing [NYSE: BA] Business Jets (BBJ) highlighted the beautiful and functional possibilities for luxury private air travel during a media tour today of the flagship BBJ Demonstrator. The unusual opportunity to see the airplane – displayed at Dubai International Airport’s ExecuJet Terminal – showcased how BBJs meet the needs of not only private VIP and corporate jet travelers, but also why BBJ remains the “gold standard” for head-of-state travel.

The Demonstrator, a Boeing BBJ 1 – based off the world’s most popular 737 platform, is outfitted to comfortably seat 15 passengers and 6 crew members. The cabin includes two private suites, both with full washrooms and showers. The BBJ also provides an elegant dining area, lounge-conference space with large flat-screen televisions, high speed internet, a separate galley and crew rest to provide further privacy for both VIP passengers and crew.

The BBJ also provides full height walk-by aisles allowing crew and passengers to access the entire airplane without disturbing passengers in the private rooms. This airplane, along with all Boeing airplanes, features low cabin altitude and supplemental humidity systems to further improve passenger comfort and reduce jet-lag on long, transoceanic flights. The BBJ Demonstrator flies up to 14 hours, with its successor bringing an additional 2 hours flight time.

“The Boeing Business Jet is a penthouse in the sky, and its unmatched cabin size and space show why the BBJ is preferred over every other private jet,” said BBJ President James (J.D.) Detwiler. “Customers can work with high-speed connectivity and privacy, dine, relax, sleep and shower in private suites, while other guests and crew have full access to the main cabin.”

This year Boeing Business Jets celebrates its 25th anniversary with more than 260 orders to date. Since 1996, BBJ has provided the business jet industry’s most reliable, high quality and luxurious flying experience for customers worldwide. Built to the highest quality and safety standards, every BBJ is custom outfitted to each owner’s individual tastes and needs.

A key market for business aviation, the Middle East accounts for 30% of all BBJs sold and 50% of BBJ widebody orders. As part of Boeing’s Commercial Market Outlook, Middle East passenger traffic and the region’s commercial fleet are projected to more than double over the next 20 years.

Business aviation has already recovered and is now above 2019 pre-pandemic levels. According to WingX, an aviation and data analysis agency, worldwide business jet departures are up 54% compared to November 2020, and up 16% compared to pre-pandemic November 2019 rates. With increased interest for private and business aviation during the pandemic, BBJ is uniquely positioned to meet this growing demand with best-in-class airplanes for business and leisure travel.

1 With plenty of room to work, relax and recharge, the BBJ Demonstrator features a comfortable lounge area that can also be used as a meeting area or living room.

2-3 Down the hall is the master suite with a walk-around queen size bed, closet and full en suite with a standing shower.
