The Gulf is about to tighten the rules of the road. A GCC-wide project to link traffic violations across member states is almost ready, hitting 95% completion. Once live, any traffic fine you rack up in one country will instantly show up in your home country too.
How It Works
The system will allow traffic violation data to be exchanged in real-time. So, if you get caught speeding in Dubai, that ticket will follow you back to Kuwait, Riyadh, Doha, or anywhere else in the GCC.
Why It Matters
The goal is simple: consistent enforcement. By connecting records across borders, the GCC aims to make sure drivers play by the same rules everywhere, reducing loopholes and boosting road safety.
What’s Next
According to GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, the project is almost done, and priority services are also being developed to improve life for both citizens and residents across the region.
