A large fire broke out this morning at a fuel warehouse in the Al Hamriyah Port area of Sharjah, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and prompting a rapid response from emergency teams.
The blaze, which ignited among flammable materials, drew in personnel from the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, National Guard, and local police. According to Sharjah Police, firefighting units acted swiftly to contain the flames and stop the fire from spreading further.
Authorities confirmed that the situation is under control and ongoing evacuation and safety operations are being carried out in the surrounding area.
“Personnel including police, National Guard and Civil Defence commanders are on the ground, conducting firefighting operations in the wake of the fire,” officials stated via social media.
While no injuries have been reported as of publishing, residents nearby were urged to avoid the area due to air quality concerns and active emergency activity.
