A mosque will soon be built in Egypt to honor Amr Hesham, the 29-year-old UAE resident who tragically died in a car crash in Dubai last Saturday. Known for his charitable heart and selfless nature, Amr’s memory continues to inspire generosity even after his passing.

The project is being organized by the Ajman-based International Charity Organisation (ICO), with a total construction cost of Dh133,300. Donations have been pouring in since the initiative launched, with 72% (around Dh95,000) already raised as of Wednesday evening.

A Mosque Built on Love and Generosity

The planned mosque will cover 100 square meters and can accommodate 150 worshippers. It will feature a concrete roof, minaret, ablution area, and two restrooms, and will come fully furnished with a sound system.

Among the first donors were Amr’s parents, who are still coping with the loss of their only remaining son. The family lost their younger son, Kareem, in another road accident 11 years ago.

Remembered for His Kindness

At the time of his death, Amr worked as a project manager at the Saeed Ahmed Lootah Charity Foundation in Dubai, where he helped lead several charitable initiatives.

Friends and colleagues described him as someone who radiated warmth and compassion.
His best friend Soni Idrees called him “the kindest soul who always put others before himself,” while another close friend, Imran Idrees, remembered him as “a gem of a human who saw the good in everyone.”

A Family’s Heartbreak

Amr’s parents — Dr. Hesham Abdel Halim, a faculty member at the University of Sharjah, and Yasmeen Hesham — were both hospitalized after falling ill from grief. Dr. Hesham was later re-admitted after attending a condolence gathering.

Amr, who was born and raised in the UAE, was laid to rest beside his brother Kareem in Sharjah, leaving behind a legacy of compassion that continues to move the hearts of many.
