A tragic accident in Al Ain on Tuesday, September 23, claimed the lives of two Emirati sisters in their thirties — Iman and Amira Salem Marhoon Al Alawi. Reports say a young Arab man’s car veered off course in the Oud Al Toba area and slammed into theirs. One of the sisters was six months pregnant at the time.

Family speaks out

The husband of one of the victims shared his grief, saying he accepts God’s will but also urged young drivers to slow down and respect speed limits to prevent more heartbreak on the roads.

Funeral and tributes

The sisters’ funeral prayer was held the next day at Al Shaheed Omar Al Maqbali Mosque in Um Ghafa, followed by burial at Um Ghafa cemetery. Online tributes poured in, with friends and colleagues remembering them as kind, hardworking, and a source of light to everyone around them.
