The UAE Media Council just rolled out a new digital platform called “Amen” — and it’s all about giving the public a voice. Through Amen, anyone in the UAE can flag concerns or share feedback on what they see in the media, helping keep news and content balanced and true to local values.
Making Media a Shared Responsibility
According to Council Chairman Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, this move puts the community right at the heart of shaping the country’s media. “Content is a responsibility,” he said, stressing how what’s published can shape awareness and reflect the UAE’s image. The goal? A media landscape that uplifts, educates, and mirrors the nation’s identity.
A Step Toward Open Dialogue
The council emphasized that the platform isn’t about restriction — it’s about collaboration. Secretary-General Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi said Amen aligns with the “Year of Community”, offering people a direct way to help maintain creativity, responsibility, and authenticity in UAE media.
