As the UAE gears up for its 54th Eid Al Etihad and everyone preps for a four-day holiday, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has dropped a new list of what’s allowed—and definitely not allowed—during the celebrations. The vibe: enjoy the long weekend, but don’t cause chaos on the roads.

What You Can Do

Residents are encouraged to show their UAE pride the classic way:
Use official Eid Al Etihad stickers and raise the UAE flag. Simple, clean, and approved.

What’s Completely Off-Limits

The MOI highlighted 11 activities that can get you in serious trouble during the celebrations. The quick rundown:

  • Joining random parades or forming unapproved crowds

  • Blocking roads or stopping traffic

  • Performing stunts or reckless driving

  • Hanging out of windows or sunroofs

  • Overloading vehicles

  • Covering windows or hiding plate numbers

  • Making loud, unnecessary noise or unauthorised car modifications

  • Wearing scarves that aren’t related to Eid Al Etihad

  • Displaying any flag other than the UAE flag

  • Spray painting cars

  • Playing non-National Day loud music

Break these rules and your car could get impounded—plus expect fines.

Flag Rules Still Apply

Showing patriotism? Go for it—but correctly. Authorities reminded residents that the UAE flag must be displayed respectfully. There are guidelines covering size, colour accuracy, placement, and maintenance. In short: keep it clean, keep it proper, keep it UAE.
