In a significant humanitarian gesture, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the waiver of all residency and visa fines for Sudanese nationals residing in the country.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) stated that this exemption will be effective from May 19, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
This initiative allows Sudanese residents with outstanding fines related to expired residency or entry permits to regularise their status without incurring penalties.
The ICP has streamlined the process, enabling affected individuals to submit renewal applications via the authority’s official digital platforms.
The decision underscores the UAE's commitment to supporting communities impacted by the ongoing crisis in Sudan. By alleviating the financial burdens associated with visa and residency fines, the UAE aims to enhance social and humanitarian well-being for its residents.
Sudanese nationals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to regularise their residency status within the stipulated period.
The ICP has assured that the procedures will be flexible and user-friendly, reflecting the UAE's dedication to compassion and generosity.
