Riyadh Season’s Jewelry Salon was showing a face mask decorated with gold and 3,608 black and white diamonds, which is said to be the world’s most expensive mask.

According to Arab News, the mask was commissioned by a good customer of ‘Yvel’s jewelry brand – the brand behind the mask. The customer paid $1.5 million for the mask, which Yvel has loaned to the Jewelry Salon for Riyadh Season.

Designer and president of the brand, Issac Levy said the mask consists of three sections. The front piece weighs 280 grams and is fully jeweled with 210 carats, and inside that is an N99 mask. The third layer is a disposable filter.

He also said that it’s 100% a COVID mask approved by the (US Food and Drug Administration).

Levy added that the mask took more than nine months to make, with 25 jewelers, 16 diamond setters and nine goldsmiths working on it.

The identity of the owner remains unknown as only a select few from the design team know who he is.

He added that the mask will likely be put up for auction by the owner later this year, with bids starting at $2.5 million.
