Employers are Urged to Register Workers in the Wage Protection System

Employers in the UAE have been urged by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) to register their employees in the Wage Protection System (WPS).

Utilizing exchanges, banks, and other financial institutions that have been approved by the Central Bank to offer the service, wages can be paid through the electronic system. Effective from April 1, five out of the 19 categories of domestic employees will be covered by the system.

Employers can record the payment process with the help of this tool, which also contributes to more transparency and fewer conflicts due to the Ministry's continuous monitoring of the data.

Private agricultural engineers, personal assistants, housekeepers, personal tutors, and personal trainers are a few examples of these occupations.

In 2009, the UAE started implementing the WPS for employees in businesses in the private sector.
