Warner Bros. World Yas Island in Abu Dhabi has a new resident, and he is not one of the good guys. Kryptonite Collider, the park’s newest thrill ride, is now open to the public. It is also the first permanent new attraction added to the park since it opened in 2018.

The story behind the ride

The ride is based on Lex Luthor’s Everyman Project, his plan to give regular people superhuman powers using kryptonite, the rare mineral known as Superman’s weakness. Guests start inside a detailed LexCorp laboratory, where they are briefed before taking their seats.

After the ride begins, a 32-seat centrifuge spins around the riders with fast motion, lights, and onboard audio. The experience is designed to make guests feel like they are gaining special powers. During the ride, guests also face a choice between supporting Superman or accepting Luthor’s offer of power. At the end, interactive screens reveal each rider’s personalised “superpower,” giving the experience a unique finish for everyone.

What to know before you go

Kryptonite Collider is a thrill ride, so some height and weight limits apply. Guests must be at least 105cm tall when riding with an adult, or 120cm to ride alone. Children under 105cm are not allowed on the ride. The maximum weight limit is 136kg. The ride is included in standard park entry, with no extra ticket needed.

Part of a bigger summer at the park

The opening of Kryptonite Collider comes during DC Super Hero Season at Warner Bros. World Yas Island, which runs until 30 August. During this period, the park’s hero lineup shares the spotlight with DC villains through live shows and character meet-and-greets.

The launch also comes after another big milestone for the park. Warner Bros. World Yas Island was recently named Best Theme Park in the World at the 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, making it the first attraction in the Middle East to receive this honour.
