Bubur Lambuk

2 cups of uncooked rice (wash and soak for 2 hours)
1/2 kg beef (cut into small pieces)
1 knot of soup spice
250 ml coconut milk
3 tbsp pepper
3 large onions (blend)
1.5 cm ginger (blend)
1 beef bullion
1 carrot (cubed)
Parsley for garnish
Fried onion for garnish

  1. Sautéing the Aromatics

    In a pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the blended onions, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until they turn slightly brown and fragrant.
  2. Cooking the Base Ingredients

    Add the soup spice knot, beef, and rice to the pot. Mix everything well to combine.
  3. Simmering and Finishing

    Allow the rice and beef to fry for about five minutes on medium-low heat. Then, pour in water and cover the pot with a lid. Let it boil until the rice softens, which usually takes about 10 minutes. Once the rice turns into a porridge-like consistency, stir in coconut milk and season with salt. Add grounded black pepper, bullion, potatoes, and carrots. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, then remove from heat. Finally, garnish with parsley and fried onions before serving.
