The Arab world just scored a field goal in the world of basketball because the Saudi Basketball Federation (SBF) has just been awarded the hosting rights for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, where it will be held exclusively in Jeddah. This marks the second time that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host this iconic continental tournament, the last one taking place in Riyadh in 1997. 

The upcoming event is set to capture the hearts of millions of basketball stans as the sport continues to flourish in the region. Hagop Khajirian, Executive Director of FIBA Regional Office - Asia, expressed his excitement via FIBA over entrusting the country with this prestigious responsibility and acknowledged the country's impressive growth in basketball.

“The return of the FIBA Asia Cup to Saudi Arabia for the first time in nearly three decades symbolizes the Kingdom’s commitment to basketball’s growth and their passion for the sport. We anticipate a remarkable event that not only showcases the best of the Asia Cup but also highlights Saudi Arabia’s remarkable journey,” he continued.
