Dubai Marathon Turned Expo City Dubai into a Huge Race

The 22nd Edition Dubai Marathon, one of the world's premier long-distance running events, took place this morning with 16,975 participants from the UAE and other countries competing. The race took place at Expo City Dubai and attracted runners of various ages and fitness levels.

Dubai geared up for one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the year - the Dubai Marathon. This year's race provided a spectacular experience as it was held in the newly developed Expo City Dubai, which offered the runners a unique and unforgettable experience. The marathon was hosted and organized by the Dubai Sports Council and the cooperation of various government entities.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, the Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, presented awards to the winners of this year's competition. The first place was taken by Abdisa Tola from Ethiopia, who set a new world record with a time of 2:05:42 in his first professional marathon race. Deresa Geleta and Haymanot Alew Engdayehu, both from Ethiopia, placed second and third respectively.

Ethiopian runner, Dera Dida Yami, came in first place in the professional women's race with a time of 2 hours, 21 minutes, and 11 seconds. Ruti Aga, who had the best personal record among the competitors, and Siranesh Yirga placed second and third, respectively.
